MuseScore Studio 4.4.4 is now available!$$$ shoogle • Dec 11; 2024 - 17:50$$$Hi everyone;$$$$$$As work on MuseScore Studio 4.5 continues at full pace; weve prepared a small extra update in the meantime: MuseScore Studio 4.4.4.$$$$$$This update brings stability improvements and bug fixes; as well as some smaller features that we felt were suitable to include in a patch.$$$$$$Engraving$$$All combinations of dynamics and expression text are now properly centred between staves (#25451)$$$Offset applied to lyrics is now taken into account when positioning other elements around them (#25485)$$$Usability$$$Pressing an arrow key while nothing is selected in the score will select the note or rest nearest your previous selection instead of jumping to the beginning or end of the score (#24157; #25371)$$$After pressing Esc to exit fingering input; the fingering element stays selected; so that you can (for example) use the arrow keys to move it around if desired (#25413)$$$Scroll wheel & scroll gestures are now solely used for scrolling; i.e. not for changing the values of sliders and knobs (e.g. in the Mixer) (#11128)$$$Muse Sound libraries can have now have nested categories of sounds for easier navigation in the Mixer (#25546)

Additionally; it includes a critical fix for Windows users; resolving several graphical problems.

MuseScore Studio 4.4.2 is now available!$$$Hi everyone;$$$Were pleased to announce that MuseScore Studio 4.4.2 is now available. This update addresses stability issues; fixes a problem with MuseScore Studios online functionality; improves playback quality especially on less powerful computers; and includes several other enhancements and fixes in various areas.$$$$$$Online functionality & MuseScore.com$$$Some users reported that MuseScore Studio 4.4 was unable to connect to the internet and that they could not log in to their MuseScore.com and Audio.com accounts. To receive the latest version; close MuseScore Studio and then open Muse Hub; which will install the update in the background.)$$$Pedal playback for VST has been fixed$$$An issue involving tempo markings and measures with a reduced duration has been fixed$$$Metronome markings containing c. (in the meaning of circa) after the = sign are now also accepted; thanks @pacebes for your contribution!$$$Preview playback of chord symbols just after entering them is back again$$$Youll hear no more unexpected portamento effects when clicking on notes to preview their sound$$$In MuseScore Studio 4.4; the Solo button for the metronome track was intentionally removed. However; for existing scores where the metronome track was already soloed; this meant that it couldnt be unsoloed again; leaving all other channels stuck in silence. In MuseScore Studio 4.4.2; such scores are now automatically fixed.$$$Miscellaneous fixes$$$Chord symbols are now exported to MIDI again$$$The state of the Loop button in the playback panel correctly updates again when opening a different score$$$When running the AppImage on Linux; the app name and icon are correctly recognised again$$$In the Properties panel for fretboard diagrams; hovering the preview diagram no longer results in the fingerings disappearing$$$MuseScore Studio 4.4 contained a fix that prevented chord symbols to be rendered wrongly in scores with custom chords XML files after saving and reopening such scores. MuseScore 4.4.1 is now available!$$$This update contains more than 50 bug fixes and stability improvements. There are also new style options to control the default positioning of dynamics/hairpins.$$$$$$Dynamics and hairpins now snap more intelligently to each other; enabling better horizontal alignment. There are new controls in Properties for snapping and unsnapping these objects.$$$$$$The layout system for accidentals has been rewritten; and SMuFL cutouts are now being used. This results in a more elegant and compact layout; especially in complex chords. This update fixes a critical usability issue affecting AZERTY keyboard users. The shift modifier key can now be used to trigger number keys; enabling note durations to be changed using the default shortcuts. $$$$$$This release also improves CPU performance when using Muse Sounds; and resolves a number of playback bugs associated with repeats.$$$$$$Additional fixes:$$$$$$Playback now falls back to MS Basic if SoundFonts are missing.$$$Volume levels of MS Basic are now better balanced between note input and playback modes.$$$An issue preventing instrument names from being deleted from beginning of staves has been resolved. $$$Fixed a bug where synthesizers incorrectly defaulted to the piano sound.$$$Fixed a crash preventing certain scores with hidden clefs from opening.
