6.2.2 // May 2025$$$The Solstice 6.2.2 release contains performance improvements for Pods currently running Solstice version 6.2 as well as Active Learning and the Solstice web app.$$$Resolved Issues$$$Digital Signage Screen May Freeze on Gen3 Solstice Pods$$$A 6.2.1 update to the Pod Chromium software used by Gen3 Solstice Pods to display a Digital Signage feed could cause the Solstice welcome screen to freeze randomly. This Pod Chromium software update has been rolled back to the version that was previously included in Solstice 6.2.$$$$$$CAUTION: Digital Signage providers such as Appspace or Carousel may interpret a Chromium version downgrade as a new device; and require the Pod to be unregistered and manually reregistered after upgrading to version 6.2.2 or above from 6.2.1 (this will not impact older Solstice versions). Re-registering such devices cannot be done remotely; the Appspace or Carousel Digital Signage registration code presented on the attached display after a Pod bootup must be read in person. Please keep this in mind when upgrading a Pod from version 6.2.1 which is currently running an Appspace or Carousel Digital Signage feed.$$$$$$Custom Message or RSS Feed Fails to Display on Welcome Screen$$$A configured Custom Message (Message Center settings in Solstice Cloud) previously failed to display after an update to Solstice version 5.5.2 or higher when the default Solstice Wireless Display RSS feed is disabled. There is no longer a need to use the previously published workaround of adding an RSS feed after the disabled default feed with the Source address http://mersive.com/blank.xml. If a previously enabled blank feed was being used; the admin may now delete the blank feed after updating the Pod to 6.2.2.$$$$$$HTTPS Redirect to Hostname Not Fully Working$$$An issue was reported where attempts to connect to the Pod via the HTTP web interface using the Pod’s IP address would not redirect to HTTPS and show the hostname if these settings were enabled on the Pod. With this release; Pods will now correctly respond to HTTPS redirects to hostname.$$$$$$License check failure for Pods entitled to maintenance releases$$$Pods could report an error on the display post bootup that indicated Installed software is not licensed and instructions to downgrade the Pod to a supported version. This could occur if the Pod did not download an updated Solstice versions lists; as well as an updated Pod license with current Subscription information; during the allotted time provided during Pod bootup. The 6.2.2 version and future versions will help prevent this issue by coming pre-packaged with a list of supported Solstice versions which can be referenced during the bootup sequence even if the Pod cannot establish a network connection in the time allotted during bootup. The Pod will now also re-attempt to download the Pod license a second time soon after the bootup sequence and reboot the Pod to apply it if a newer license is found.$$$$$$Enablement of setting “Disable ICMP Pings to the Pod”$$$The security feature “Disable ICMP Pings to the Pod”; which is a Pod feature that is not enabled by default; was not getting enabled when the admin would attempt to select the option. The 6.2.2 version has corrected this issue; enabling “Disable ICMP Pings to the Pod” will now successfully disable the ability to perform ICMP pings to the Pods over the wireless access point (WAP); wireless; or Ethernet networks.$$$$$$Availability and Requirements of Software Updates$$$Solstice 6.2.2 software upgrades are available for the following components of the Solstice product suite:$$$$$$Solstice Pod (Gen3)

Solstice Version 6.X Release Notes$$$6.2.1 // February 2025$$$The Solstice 6.2.1 release contains performance improvements for Pods currently running Solstice version 6.2 as well as Active Learning and the Solstice web app.$$$$$$Important$$$Mersive strongly recommends upgrading Pods to software version 6.2.1 to benefit from the latest security updates and important performance enhancements. Read this Mersive Support article if you are upgrading Solstice version 4.4 or earlier to Solstice version 5.5 or higher.$$$$$$Active Learning Enhancements$$$Retry Active Learning Connections When Dropped$$$If an Active Learning connection is dropped from a secondary display; the primary display will attempt to reestablish the connection. This update reduces the need for user intervention where before users would have needed to manually reestablish the secondary display connection.$$$$$$Active Learning Hardened Against Connection Freezes$$$Multiple connection/disconnection sharing activities during a single Active Learning session could previously result in the session freezing unless reset. With this release; Active Learning was improved to prevent intermittent freezes under these conditions.$$$$$$Web App Enhancements$$$Audio Volume Auto Adjusts During Web Share on Windows$$$Clientless web-based sharing to the Pod of videos containing audio abnormalities will no longer attempt to accommodate by adjusting the volume. With this release; audio volume will remain consistent throughout the sharing experience.$$$$$$Resolved Issues$$$USB to RS232 Adapter Not Shutting Off Displays$$$An issue was reported involving displays connected to Pods via USB cable and RS232 adapters which prevented power management serial commands from being delivered to the attached displays. With this release; the serial signal sent from the Pod to the display has been altered to ensure the display is suspended or will wake based on the serial command sent.$$$$$$Scheduled Reboots Occurring at Random Times$$$Reports were received of scheduled reboots not taking place at their regularly scheduled times. Scheduled reboot functionality has been updated in this release to correct this issue.$$$$$$HTTPS Redirect to Hostname Not Working$$$An issue was reported where attempts to connect to the Pod via the HTTP web interface using the Pod’s IP address would not redirect to HTTPS and show the hostname if these settings were enabled on the Pod. With this release; Pods will respond properly to HTTPS redirects to hostname.$$$$$$PowerPoint Extended Presentation Slide Advancement Delays on Windows 11 24H2$$$A Windows 11 24H2 update was reported which can impact the Mersive Solstice client “Extended Presentation Mode” feature (not enabled by default). The issue prevented the client from adequately tracking PowerPoint slide advancement when viewed in Extended Presentation Mode. Corrective measures were added to the Mersive Solstice 6.2.1 client in order to accommodate the latest operating system changes.$$$$$$iPad AirPlay Video Frame Sharing Lag$$$Video content shared via AirPlay from an Apple iPad may appear choppy. Solstice Pod updates were made to the AirPlay sharing feature in order to help address the reported issue.$$$$$$New Mersive SSL Security Certificate for use with share.mersive.com$$$Solstice Pods on version 6.1.2 or higher reach out to kepler-backend.mersive.com in order to request updated default SSL Security Certificate used for share.mersive.com communication. This operation occurs automatically upon Pod reboot. Solstice Pod version 6.2.1 is packaged with a base default Mersive SSL Security Certificate which expires February 3; 2026. With version 6.2.1; an additional check was added every 24 hours. This eliminates the need for a Pod reboot in order to reach out and request; download; and apply a more up-to-date default SSL Security Certificate.$$$$$$Availability and Requirements of Software Updates$$$Solstice 6.2.1 software upgrades are available for the following components of the Solstice product suite:$$$$$$

6.2 // July 2024$$$Mersive strongly recommends upgrading Pods to software version 6.2 to benefit from the latest security updates and important performance enhancements. Read this Mersive Support article if you are upgrading Solstice version 4.4 or earlier to Solstice version 5.5 or higher.$$$$$$Security Enhancement$$$API Updates$$$This release includes an update to the V2 API which enhances security and performance; ensuring the system remains robust and reliable. Users benefit from a more secure application without any noticeable changes in their experience.$$$$$$Solstice Client for Windows Performance Enhancement$$$Closing the Client Quits the App$$$The Mersive Solstice client for Windows will now only have an associated system tray component when the client is running. Closing the client will quit the application; so it will no longer remain running in the background. This change will help prevent system resource consumption by the client when not being used for sharing; which will help conserve laptop battery power.$$$$$$Resolved Issues$$$Recently Used Display List$$$Solstice Client (for Windows or Mac) will now successfully retrieve and show the stored Recently Used Display list after the Client is restarted.$$$$$$RSS Feed Displays Item Title$$$When an RSS feed is configured within the Pod’s Message Center; the feed will now display the item title below the scrolling item description.$$$$$$HDMI-In Port Improvements$$$HDMI-In port improvements implemented to help harden port stability impacted by rapid plug/unplug events.$$$$$$HDMI-In Status Message Visibility Improved$$$The HDMI-In connection status message now displays in the middle of the screen with a larger font size for easier viewing.$$$$$$Improved Messaging for Windows PCs with Dual Graphics Cards$$$In an effort to prevent desktop and app sharing fails; the Solstice Client has improved messaging for detection and recommendations for Windows PCs with dual graphics cards.$$$$$$Installer Updated for Permission Changes$$$For new Solstice Client installations on Windows; write permissions have been added to the folder %ProgramData%\Mersive\ALLUSERS\Solstice\Client to help ensure that client setting changes are permitted in more restricted user environments.$$$$$$Subscription Expiration Date Display Correction$$$Pods that have been assigned multiple subscription bundles which have future start dates visible in Solstice Cloud will now correctly show the final end date in the Pod’s local; web; and Dashboard views.$$$$$$HSTS Flag Added$$$To provide the proper response to automated security checks; the HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) flag has been added to web server response headers.$$$$$$API v2 Parity with v1$$$Solstice Open Control API v2 functionality and documentation have been updated to ensure parity with API v1 functionality.$$$$$$Known Issue$$$HDMI-In Management Devices and Port Stability$$$This release implements significant HDMI-In port improvements to help harden port stability; which can help when HDMI-In Management Devices (such as Extenders; Switchers; etc.) are in use. Nevertheless; Pods configured to use HDMI-In Management Devices may on occasion still encounter HDMI-In port stability issues when users quickly unplug and plug back in. Additional hardening is planned to help handle plug/unplug events while using devices other than standard direct attached HDMI-In cables.$$$$$$Mersive does NOT recommend the use of HDMI-In Management Devices (such as Extenders; Switchers; etc.) with the Solstice Pod.$$$$$$Availability and Requirements of Software Updates$$$Solstice 6.2 software upgrades are available for the following components of the Solstice product suite:$$$$$$Solstice Pod (Gen3)$$$$$$Visit mersive.com/download/ to access updates.
