As a founder, it is incredibly rewarding to see the company you built be positioned in a Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ report. I see being included in the Leaders Quadrant in a Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ serves as a clear signal to the market that a company has proven itself in both Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. This is why I am proud to share that Adaptiva has been named a Leader in the first-ever Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Management Tools.
While we are honored by this placement, we view it not as a destination, but as a reflection of important product and platform decisions we made and bold strategic moves we executed. When people ask me how we became a Leader in a Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ I will share my belief that it came down to an early recognition that organizations were facing a significant and costly problem with endpoint management and then placing some key big bets on the best ways to solve that challenge.
The Problem We Set Out to Solve
Adaptiva did not begin in a boardroom. It actually began in a small basement. Before founding Adaptiva, I spent many years at Microsoft working on the development of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and watching the world’s largest customers struggle with endpoint management on a massive scale. That experience gave me a clear view of what worked, what didn’t, and where the industry was heading. What became increasingly evident was that manual, infrastructure-heavy approaches to managing employee devices and endpoints simply did not scale.
As enterprise environments grew larger, more distributed, and more complex, IT teams were being asked to accomplish the impossible: patch and manage endpoints faster and more cost effectively, all while ensuring that endpoint security, employee experience, and network bandwidth were never negatively impacted.
I believed there had to be a better way. One where humans should define strategy and process, and software should autonomously do the rest. This is why, from the beginning, we made several deliberate bets that would ultimately define Adaptiva.
The Big Bets That Got Us Here
First, scale had to be foundational, not an afterthought.
Adaptiva was built for enterprise scale from day one. Whether an organization manages 40 endpoints or 400,000, the system must perform with the same reliability and efficiency. This conviction led us to pioneer a peer-to-peer distributed computing platform architecture that transforms endpoints into the infrastructure itself. By leveraging the compute power and storage capacity of each endpoint, we could eliminate server sprawl, network performance issues, and operational bottlenecks while enabling endpoint management performance at scale. Whether IT professionals were patching a critical vulnerability or distributing a new operating system, we wanted our customers to trust that they could do this reliably even in the largest, most complex, and bandwidth-constrained environments. We also wanted to give them the ability to perform their endpoint management tasks across as many applications and operating systems as possible on Windows, MacOS, and Linux devices, both on-premises and in the cloud. This led to the development of our award-winning OneSite Platform and suite of endpoint management products.
Second, autonomous operations would be necessary.
Even before the dawn of AI, the team at Adaptiva recognized that the threat landscape would advance at an unprecedented pace. In 2025 alone, the CVE Program (managed by MITRE under U.S. government oversight) identified 48,448 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, a 20% increase from the previous year and a 66% increase from 2023. These ever-increasing security risks coupled with exponential growth in the number of devices under company management, has left IT professionals with an impossible endpoint management burden.
While AI and automation offer IT and Security Operations professionals new ways to proactively identify and manage possible risks, they also make it possible for attackers to exploit endpoint vulnerabilities faster than ever before. This is why Adaptiva placed a big bet on autonomous endpoint management. We recognized that only an essential combination of human-led strategy, oversight, and optimization united with AI and autonomous technology could keep up with the scale of this problem.
Third, endpoint management cannot exist in isolation
The issues the world faces in cybersecurity demonstrate how Security and IT Operations are deeply interconnected. Yet, too often, they are forced to operate in isolation with separate tools, priorities, and data. Early on, Adaptiva saw that Security and IT departments needed to stop working in silos to better protect the companies they serve. This is why Adaptiva invested in the power of partnerships by deeply integrating our OneSite Platform with leading vulnerability management solutions from companies like Tenable, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft. Our technology partnerships bridge the gap between IT and Security teams to drive more security-centric endpoint management. We chose to work with partners who understand enterprise complexity and security because no single vendor can solve these endpoint management challenges alone.
From Vision to Execution
Those early bets shaped the foundation of our company and the market-leading performance of our OneSite Platform and suite of endpoint management products. Designed for autonomous endpoint management at enterprise scale, the platform brings together OneSite Patch, OneSite Anywhere, OneSite Health, and more to close the gap between insight and action.
Today, I am proud to report that more than 10 million licensed endpoints are running on the Adaptiva OneSite platform across some of the world’s largest enterprises and government organizations. That level of scale is not accidental. It is the result of architectural discipline, purposeful automation, and consistent execution.
Recognition Is Meaningful. Customers Are the Reason.
We believe that these bold moves and big bets are just some of the reasons Adaptiva was included in this first-ever Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Management Tools. We are honored by this inclusion, but we also recognize that the true validation comes from the organizations that trust Adaptiva to secure and manage their endpoints every day.
Their challenges shaped our platform, their scale tested our assumptions, and their feedback continues to raise the bar for what we build next.
Adaptiva will continue to invest in autonomy, scalability, and partnerships, because the endpoint landscape is not becoming simpler, and neither are the risks organizations face.
From our humble origins in a basement to being a Gartner-recognized Leader, our mission remains unchanged: to provide IT and security teams with the gold-standard in autonomous innovation to confidently manage and protect their endpoints at scale and speed.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We are just getting started.
Sincerely,
Deepak Kumar
