About the role
The Test Lead will be responsible for hiring, training, managing, and retaining a growing team of India-based Software Test Engineers. The Test Lead will liaise with the US-based headquarters team members to understand the product roadmap, test cases and release cadence, and plan team expansion and schedules accordingly. The Test Lead will provide technical leadership to the test team and ensure that high quality test plans and test cases are developed and executed, bugs are filed, and fixes are verified in a very fast-paced development environment.
This is an important and strategic role in the company and will report directly to the Company’s Director/Country Manager for India. Responsibilities
- Help define the quality culture of a growing and successful team.
- Onboard, train and define performance metrics to new team members.
- End-to-End testing of Weekly builds received from HQ.
- Sign-off on all end-of-sprint releases.
- Document issues and work with cross functional teams to ensure software meets the highest degree of quality and reliability.
- Coordinate test activities amongst multiple teams.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers in the development and execution of test plans.
- Work with the development team to identify and prioritize testing needs.
- Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts using a variety of tools and technologies.
- Report and track defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure that technical solutions are aligned with project goals and adhere to best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, including 1-2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team.
- Experience writing test plans and developing manual and automated test cases.
- Proficiency with a variety of testing tools and technologies, including Selenium and/or similar automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Experience with issue tracking software such as JIRA.
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and successful experience working with a geographically dispersed team.
- Ability to understand design patterns and set up the infrastructure to run tests.
Nice to have
- Previous Knowledge or experience with software such as SCCM/MEM, Intune, VMWare Workspace ONE etc.
- Java/JavaScript experience.
- Service testing experience (Postman, REST Assured, etc).
- Previous experience in Performance or Security testing.
- DevOps knowledge.
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and training new Test Engineers.
