Updated statement issued June 28, 2024:

We have received numerous queries from CDK customers, and provide this statement to answer some of their questions. CDK is a licensed user of our products. Adaptiva’s products were not involved in this breach.

Our updated guidance is to direct queries about enabling or disabling Adaptiva clients to CDK, since they administer the usage of Adaptiva software at dealerships.

However, due to several requests from dealers, we are providing steps for disabling the Adaptiva client on dealer machines. 

From an administrative command prompt, run the following commands to stop the AdaptivaClient service, and disable it:

net stop adaptivaclient

sc config adaptivaclient start= disabled

Adaptiva’s products remain completely secure and are not involved in this breach. We do not recommend disabling the Adaptiva client at dealerships since this functionality may be necessary in the future to expedite the recovery process and bring dealerships back online.
