TechEd 2012: Great People, Great Place and a Great Giveaway

Just a quick update for those of you that didn’t attend TechEd North America 2012 in Orlando.

The TechEd conference was as hot as the venue. Every day we were greeted with sunshine and a great crowd of IT professionals visiting Adaptiva booth 223.We want to thank everyone who came by and shared their time with us.

As some of you know, Adaptiva once again gave away a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the close of the show. At 1:15 pm on Thursday, June 14, attendees began to gather around Adaptiva booth #223, crossing their fingers that they would hear their name when the winner was called. Folks were shoulder to shoulder as far as you could see.

Rod Trent of myITforum.com, helped us by managing the random drawing.

Todd Floyd, vice president of Adaptiva sales, called the first name. Moments passed. No one claimed the prize. Then a countdown led by Todd and an increasingly anxious crowd began: five, four, three, two, one. Draw another name!

There was a hush and Rod pressed the “drawing” button on the screen. Another name was selected. Todd called the next name: George Reymer. Suddenly the crowd began to cheer. George was present and claimed his prize. Congratulations, George! Watch the video below.

Thanks to Rod Trent for helping us with the drawing. And many thanks to all of you that came by and spoke with Adaptiva, shared your stories and entered the drawing. We enjoyed meeting all of you and can’t wait to do it again next year.

Next stop: TechEd Europe. Todd and Jason Sandys, our director of solutions engineering and Microsoft MVP, will be heading off to Amsterdam for TechEd Europe. They’ll be joining Kent Agerlund, co-founder of Coretech and Microsoft MVP at Adaptiva booth #4 from June 26-29. If you’re in Amsterdam, stop by and tell them hello!
